What should I do before I arrive? On your approach to the home it is recommended you make a stop at the local IGA located at 70 Foothills Pkwy, Marble Hill, GA 30148 and pick up groceries prior to entering Big Canoe. The roads are curvy. If you suffer from motion sickness, be prepared. Bonine and/or Dramamine work well to remedy this. Once you are inside the community, you can enjoy the Club House but restaurants do not deliver. Many times you will just want to relax and enjoy the views.

How are the roads in Big Canoe?Big Canoe is a mountain community. This includes beautifully maintained, curvy roads that transport you to another place when you enter. If it is your first time in Big Canoe you may want to take it slow. It is advised that you arrive during the day allowing you to locate your destination with ease. In the event of snowfall, stay off the roads. As soon as it is safe, the Big Canoe Public Works Department will clear the roads to provide a clear path for all emergency vehicles, passage to and from the gates, and access to your home in that order. Public Safety vehicles, often equipped with the likes of heavy-duty tire chains, are set up to respond to winter weather emergencies. If you see one of their vehicles traveling with ease, don’t think your car has the same capabilities. These vehicles will work quickly to ensure you a clear passage. Feel free to contact Public Safety: (706) 268-3376 or (706) 268-3399 with any questions.

DIRECTIONS: Must Read! Some navigational apps have been sending people to a locked gate off Cove Road on Skyline Drive to access the community. THIS IS NOT ACCURATE. The correct entrance to Big Canoe is on the west side of Steve Tate Highway (.7 miles north of Cove Road). Both Big Canoe gates are manned 24/7.

How do I add channels to Roku?Unfortunately Big Canoe does not have cable. All homes utilize streaming services to access media and can be glitchy depending on the weather. Some times this means that we are not able to access local news or sporting events. To add a channel like Fox, CNN, CBS, etc. follow these easy steps: Press the Home button on your Roku remote. Choose Streaming Channels. Select a channel to add via the featured options, using the genre options, or through the search tool. When you've found a channel you want to add, press Ok. Select Add channel and then Ok. SPORTS: Hulu + Live TV provides plenty of great sports action for Roku device users. The live streaming service provides access to major sports networks CBS Sports Network, ESPN, FOX Sports, and NBC Sports Network. It also has football fans covered with college networks ACCN, Big Ten Network, College Extra, and SEC Network. It also includes Goal Line, Golf Channel, and Olympic Channel in its standard lineup. Omissions from its channels include MLB Network, NBA TV, and NFL Network.
